Cancer check up No. 13

Had my first bi-monthly cancer check up the other day. Hadn't seen Ceri for just about two months so it was nice to see him again. I even saw Professor Steven Thomas too - a big reunion!

Anyway, all is well, I do have an ulceration at the back of my mouth on the side of my hole (sorry defect) which had concerned me a little, so Ceri has checked it out and to be on the safe side, if it is still there at the end of the month, then he will biopsy to rule out anything nasty.

This is a good point really, once you have had Cancer, the fear of it returning haunts you for a long time - I definitely do not think about it as much as I used to but something like this makes you wonder, starts you worrying and the whole process is sparked off again. I'm sure it is all fine but there is always that doubt...

So message for the day, although no one should be too concerned on a day to day basis, however if you do find something in your mouth that just doesn't seem to be healing, get it checked. It's a moment of your time to do that and it is better to be safe than sorry - and you DON'T have to of had cancer to do this!

More updates to come...
